Chicago 's premier shopping district lights up for the Christmas season, and we will truly see the Magnificent Mile in holiday style! We will arrive in Chicago early in the afternoon on Friday and check into our wonderfully appointed luxury hotel—the Conrad Chicago (check out their website at www.conradchicago.com )—nestled in the heart of the Magnificent Mile and close to Lake Michigan, Millennium Park, Navy Pier and the Art Institute of Chicago. Design your own Friday, Saturday and Sunday activities by taking in a play, gallery or museum as well as shopping. The Festival of Lights kicks off on Saturday evening right by our hotel. After a festive early-evening parade with everyone's favorite Disney characters, fabulous floats and dazzling decorations, Mickey Mouse will wave his magic wand to illuminate the millions of lights on the trees and displays that line Michigan Avenue and surrounding streets, and then the fireworks light up the sky over Lake Michigan . What a show! Stroll the streets to capture the spirit of Christmas, and duck into one of the hundreds of nearby restaurants. There is no shortage of things to do!
